Joannie Bottkol is the founder of JRB Art Conservation, LLC.
In 2018-2019, she was the recipient of the Rome Prize in Historic Preservation and Conservation. She is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), a member of the Northeast Conservation Association (NECA), and was the Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Objects Conservation at the Brooklyn Museum from 2010-2013.
For the past fifteen years she has worked in museums in New York City, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, and throughout the Northeast as a Senior Conservator for the National Park Service. She has also worked on archaeological excavations in Italy and Greece.
Joannie is a graduate of the Conservation Center and the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University and holds a BA in Art History from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She worked in private equity in New York City for ten years before returning to school to pursue a career in conservation.
